Types of Duplicate Games in our Unit
| In our unit we have many competitive duplicate bridge activities. They range from novice games to Grand National National District Championships. Most duplicate tournaments are stratified, where players are ranked in three "strats" A, B and C with others that have a similar number of master points. We have the occasional Swiss Team, where four people team up and play other teams in tournaments. There are other types of duplicate games such as Individual, Board-a-match and Pro-Am tournaments. There are some novice games with master point restrictions for example Carol Griffin's Newplicate Thursday Evening in Orinda and The Bridge Center's Tuesday morning and Thursday evening in Pleasant Hill, are limited to 49 masterpoints or less. |
